A long and lonely seven days is time enough to try
to get the better of my ways, and if not, to drown and die
I've seen the Park a zillion times, and in my mind I've walked
the Belvedere a million times, and gazed on up and talked

I said the things I've said before - that's really useless, but
There is no language to describe the comfort that I got
They say the Bengal tiger only bites what it can chew
They also say a bird will always go back to where it flew

And they talk about

The distance and the sea of waves that's in between
Musing on discrepance I will see that none of them has seen
The depth and grandeur of your fear
And the beauty I find here

The bigger the Atlantic gets, the closer you and I
There ain't sufficient water there to match me when I cry
Colossal choirs of angels won't outharmonize your voice
It sings inside my head; I wish it didn't but I get no choice
And I'm saying things I've said before - that's really useless, but
It's not as bad as silence, that's the loudest voice I've got

They say a clever tiger only bites what it can chew
They also say a bird will always go back to where it flew

And they talk about

The distance and the sea of waves that's in between
Musing on discrepance I will see that none of them has seen
The depth and grandeur of your fear
And the beauty I find here
